November 14, 2013 Well, we've been working very hard on developing our writing skills this year in grade 3/4. One of the first activities that the students completed was the creation of their very own Facebook Page. Don't worry, it's not a real Facebook account. The children were asked to explain a little bit about themselves and what they did on their summer holidays. To check them out please click on this link or select Facebook from the drop-down menu. We've also been writing some great reader responses, adventure stories, as well as letters to our favourite authors. We will be sending out our letters in the mail shortly. Keep your fingers crossed for us, as we hope to get a few responses.
August 15, 2013 I'm sure you're all just as excited as I am for the new school year to get underway. Only a few more weeks. On this page students and parents in my grade 3/4 ETFI class will find resources and information to help them be successful in class this year. You can read about your homework expectations. Yes, similar to last year in grade 2/3 there is homework, but my hope is that it is a fun and engaging experience for all. As a parent of two young children I know how busy life can get. If you're looking for handy tips on helping your child at home please click on the following link from the Ontario Ministry of Education. There are a number of fantastic resources here in many different languages so please feel free to explore them...
READING Similar to last year, students will be expected to complete their English home reading each night by spending a minimum of 20 minutes reading. A Reading log is to be kept and will be available for download here (if needed). For Tips on Reading please check out the document to the right that has been provided by the Ontario Ministry of Education.
